Isn’t it more expensive to pay someone else to run my payroll?
No. When you add up an in-house employee’s salary and benefits, or the value of your own time, outsourcing payroll costs less. You also never depend on one person being available, and salary information stays confidential outside your office.
What can Roots’ payroll service do that I can’t do myself?
Payroll rules, tax and social insurance requirements change all the time. Our team keeps up with every change, processes payroll, pays taxes and social insurance on time and completes government formalities, so you can spend your time growing your business.
How secure is my payroll information?
Very. Roots keeps payroll work as paperless as possible and stores digital records securely using more than one storage tool. Documents, reports and invoices are available to you on request.
Give me three reasons to outsource my payroll.
Time: keeping up with workforce and tax changes takes hours every month. Money: outsourcing costs far less than a dedicated payroll employee or department. Accuracy: a professional team avoids the penalties and interest caused by payroll mistakes.
What does employees outsourcing cover?
The full employee life cycle, from onboarding to exit, for temporary or permanent staff: employment registration with social insurance, monthly payroll, benefits and health care administration, promotions, increments and statutory requirements.
Can Roots help us recruit?
Yes. We can advertise your vacancies, collect and screen resumes, and give you a shortlist of the strongest candidates, saving your team time and effort.
Do foreigners need a work permit to work in Egypt?
Yes. Anyone who does not hold an Egyptian ID card or passport needs a work permit to work for an Egyptian company, a foreign company branch or representative office, or to run their own business in Egypt.
How long does a work permit take in Egypt?
Typically between 1 and 3 months for processing, approvals and receiving the permit. Rare cases take longer and are handled case by case. Work permits must be renewed every year, and Roots can handle renewals.
Do you only offer ready-made training courses?
No. Alongside our widely requested courses, we start with a training needs analysis and build tailor-made workshops for your teams, and we provide tools to measure the results.
How often should we review our HR manuals and employee handbook?
We recommend an external review at least once every 2 to 3 years, to make sure your policies still fit your business and comply with Egyptian Labor Law.
Do you work with companies that already have an HR department?
Yes. We serve companies of all sizes, with or without an HR department. If you have one, we take day-to-day HR operations off their shoulders so they can focus on strategic initiatives.
